Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Arts - Physics :

The Physics Department offers a full program leading to the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. The curriculum includes basic courses in physics, chemistry, math, the humanities, and a choice of electives. The program is intended for students wishing to pursue a master's degree in physics and is sufficiently broad and flexible in order to prepare graduates for advanced study of all the physics disciplines at the graduate level. Career opportunities abound for the physics major in research laboratories, production facilities and educational institutions.

Some choices of second teaching field will require additional hours, as indicated, which will require summer school attendance. To obtain certification in physics as a second teaching field, the student must include PHYS 1312 (or 1311). PHYS Lab 1112 (or 1111), PHYS 2325-2326. PHYS 2125-2126, PHYS 3313, PHYS 3323, PHYS 3333 and PHYS 3343 (24hours).

Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Physics with Emphasis in Nuclear Engineering

The Department of Physics and Geosciences offers a full set of programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. These Programs are sufficiently broad and flexible in order to prepare graduates for a constantly changing work force and a multitude of career fields.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Physics gives students the analytical and deductive reasoning skills necessary for success in today's technical workplace. This program provides a focused emphasis that prepare students for careers in fields related to nuclear physics and engineering.
